Don't forget to turn off your dreams

Dreams show us who we are. The painting was created realistically on a hot summer day as I lived in a cosy old house in the centre of Lörrach, a small place close to Basel and Black Forest. On a small piece of paper, I wrote in Russian "Don't forget to turn on your dreams", on a small matchbox "USSR". I was born in 1989, still in the USSR but shortly before it ceased to exist. And even though I lived in that country for an extremely short period of time, I'm extremely affected by the regime and its attitudes and tend to forget that now I live in Germany and some of my former dreams came true.
